EmployAbility’s mission is to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We envision a world without barriers to inclusion, equality, choice, or potential through an ongoing commitment to inclusive opportunities, advocacy, and family collaboration.

We're thrilled to introduce our Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program, designed to help high school students with intellectual and developmental disabilities gain the skills and confidence to take their first steps into the workforce.

As part of our Pre-Employment Training Programs through The Academy, Pre-ETS combines classroom learning, industry tours, and community experiences to teach essential skills like workplace readiness, job exploration, and self-advocacy. This program reflects EmployAbility’s commitment to empowering young adults to achieve meaningful careers and build connections in their community.

Putting Ability in Action for

over 70 years

Our roots trace back to 1951 when a group of parents with special needs children created an organization to give people with IDD opportunities for socialization, enrichment, and education. In the decades since we’ve evolved to serve participants with an added focus on supported integrated employment and the valuable life skills that have always been a part of our mission.

With a proven track record in Supported Employment, EmployAbility prepares people with IDD for the workforce – identifying job prospects, preparing for interviews, and providing job coaching to ensure success.

EmployAbility also connects adults with IDD to daily volunteer opportunities and enrichment activities to become more confident, valued, and engaged in the community.

Stephen and Conner

“My son has been to a number of places, but EmployAbility impressed me with how proactive they are and really making him feel like they wanted him there.”
